Six villas of volcanic stone and thatch on the slope of an extinct crater, looking across the Virunga volcanoes where the mountain gorillas live. Each morning a tracker leaves before dawn to find the families, and you follow into the bamboo to spend an hour, at arm's length, with a silverback and his young.
