Eleven carriages built in the 1920s, their marquetry, crystal and brass restored by the craftsmen who care for the châteaux of the Loire. You board in Paris before lunch, dine in the salon car as the train climbs into the Alps, and wake to the Dolomites. Your cabin steward will have learned how you take your coffee by then. At the end of the line a water taxi waits on the Grand Canal.
