Forty-five metres, moored in Farm Cove for New Year's Eve with the Opera House off the bow and the Harbour Bridge dead ahead. The harbour fills with boats by noon, and by nine the whole city is watching the water. At midnight the bridge turns to fire, close enough to feel it. Then four more days of the harbour: its beaches only boats can reach, its islands and its long lunches.
